Amelia's dream was to fly around the world. One morning in 1937 she took off from California and she flew to Miami, Brazil, Africa, India and to New Guinea. She could not find the Howland Islands. She was flying around and around. The ship Itasca tried to help. Her last words were, ''We are running south and north.'' Ships and boats were sent to find her. Amelia Earhart and Fred J. Noonan have not been found.
