In History Mystery, students use critical thinking and research skills to become history detectives. Join up with a partner class for some super sleuthing, using Classport.

Find partner detectives to help you uncover clues to history mysteries!

Here's how to get started:

Review History Mystery

Once you're familiar with this activity, go to Classport and join their online community.

Once you are a member of Classport, you can search for classrooms in other countries and contact them. Classport provides tools such as instant translation, so you can communicate easily even if you don't speak the same language!

Once you have a partner class, try these tips for learning together:

Make your own History Mystery
Here's how:

1.
Have your class choose a person, place, event, or object in world history. Pick something that is related to your partner class’s region or country.
2.
Research your chosen mystery subject, and write a brief report about it.
3.
Using your report, write 4 or 5 clues.
4.
Send the clues to your partner class, and ask them to solve the mystery. To make it more fun, send them one clue every day for 4 or 5 days until they uncover the answer.
5.
Invite your partner to send you their own mysteries.

Team up with another class to try to solve a History Mystery in one clue. Decide on a strategy and vote on the most likely answer. See if you can be Super Sleuths as a group!

Exchange research strategies with another Classport class. Click on the “investigate” button in one of the history mystery topics, and see if you can think of other ways to investigate topics besides the ones suggested by Carlotta Facts.

Have a contest with other classes using Classport. See which class can answer the most questions using the fewest clues. This is not a speed race — it's a test of research skills..

Compare how different textbooks describe historical events and people. Ask your Classport partner to explain their book's version and describe your version to them.

Create a historical timeline and share it with your partner class.
