Persuasion Through Advertising

Students will learn about visual and written persuasive techniques, and apply these techniques to create an advertisement for a product or service.

OBJECTIVE

Students Will:

  1. Understand the meaning of "transfer," "catchphrase," and "catchwords" in persuasive writing.
  2. Create an advertisement by applying the learned persuasive writing techniques.
  3. Present the advertisement to the whole class.
  4. Analyze and discuss the persuasive techniques that were used in various advertisements.
