Activity 1 — Creating a Biography

A play starts with a character. A character starts with a BIOGRAPHY.

This week, try to create a biography for your play's main character. Use each of the details listed below as you create the biography.

NAME: Character's name. If it's an inanimate object, add WHAT the thing is, such as "Clem the Watch"

AGE: Character's age

FAMILY: Who is the character related to? If no one, put "no one"

WISH: What does your character want more than anything?

FEAR: What is the one thing that your character is afraid of? EVERYONE has at least one fear!

HABITAT: Where does your character live? Be specific! Clem lives in in a small black plastic box in a jewelry store in Naples, Florida.

JOB: Every one has a job, or something he or she is supposed to do.) [Clem's job is to keep the correct time.

MOST IMPORTANT PERSON: To the character that is! Only one person can be the most important.

Now complete the rest of the biography:

INSIDE: What your character thinks about

OUTSIDE: What your character looks like
