Activity 4 The Third CharacterOkay, you're ready to create a biography for your third and final character. This newest character is going to enter into your play and be the one who will help solve the problem or conflict. He or she might be a friend to one of the characters or a stranger. You decide. The character might be a superhero or a homeless person. It might not even be a person! He or she might stutter or might sing every line! Anything is possible in a play. Go back into your play and figure out where this new character enters and what kind of entrance it is. Does he or she join in from the beginning or jump in when things get tense? Does he or she solve the problem for your other two characters or merely "help" the two main characters solve their own problem? Does he or she have a special monologue? You decide! Now, rewrite your play and insert the third and final character. Back to Index Page |
