Activity 5 — Rewriting Your Play

Teacher's Notes

In the previous activity, you made a new version of your play with the addition of a third character. Reread your revised play and write down ideas that can help make this version better. This is a good time to get suggestions from your friends. A change of setting might do wonders. A time of day might change what happens. You might want to have a monologue at the very beginning of your play or, you might want to end with a message to your audience. You might even want to add a brief scene to show what happened after the conflict was resolved. You decide!

REWRITE your play to incorporate (include) at least two new ideas. Remember, a good playwright wants his or her play to be the best. Do not stop until it is a thing of beauty!
