Literacy Place is a K–6 reading and language arts program that offers a research-based combination of systematic skills development, great literature, and state-of-the-art technology to make every child a successful reader.

The program focuses instruction on four key points:
  • Teach decoding without sacrificing meaning
    Authentic literature and decodable text to develop fundamental literacy skills and reading fluency.
  • Build strong vocabulary and comprehension strategies
    Comprehensive lessons for before, during, and after reading to ensure mastery and future success on standardized tests.
  • Model writing through reading
    Innovative workshops to strengthen writing skills and improve comprehension.
  • Assess and evaluate to inform instruction and monitor process
    Continuous and ongoing strategies to monitor children's comprehension and modify instruction.
