Max Math's Adventure

Max's Math Adventures
I traded a dollar for a brand new penny,
Instead of just one coin, the teller gave me many!
He said it was 100. How could I be sure?
'Easy!' said Ruthie. 'Counting is the cure!

Counting Coins
Counting Coins

I counted pennies, "1, 2, 3, 4" to 100, one by one.
"I know more ways to count," said Ruth. "In fact, I know a ton!"
She counted my pennies, "2, 4, 6, 8," up to 100 by 2's.
"Counting this way is great," she said. "You will never lose!"

I counted, "5, 10, 15, 20." Yes, I counted up by 5.
And at 100 pennies, I quickly did arrive.
Ruthie took back my pennies and counted them by 10 —
"10, 20, 30, 40," up to 100 once again!

So count pennies by 1's, 2's, 5's, or 10's — any way you pick.
It's not hard to remember. There is no special trick!
Count them by yourself, or count them with a friend —
If you have one dollar's worth, you'll reach 100 in the end!
