Scholastic is pleased to announce our early literacy series,
JUST FOR YOU!

Created by African-American authors and illustrators from diverse backgrounds, these 24 engaging, leveled books present child-centered stories that support literacy learning.

Just For You! books are available in three levels to help build reading confidence. In addition to these authentic stories, each book ends with instructional activities for children and caregivers that target reading comprehension and vocabulary development, strengthening the home school connection and making reading a fundamental experience.

Great for Independent Reading
Ideal for independent reading and building classroom libraries so that all children can see themselves in the books they read; each title contains:
  • A special letter for the family with tips to help their children read and retell the story in his or her own words.
  • Vocabulary and sentence length that support developing reading skills.
  • A variety of literacy activities (reading, writing and telling stories) that instruct and engage children.
  • Biographies of the authors and illustrators that provide young readers with models of success.
