Common Core Professional Learning and Implementation Training

Preparing schools and districts for the transition to the Common Core State Standards and the Next Generation Assessments will require a systemic and focused effort. Code X provides teachers who are confident with the key instructional shifts of the Common Core with rich texts and tasks to enhance their understanding and teaching. It also ensures that less confident or newer teachers have a professional learning tool and day-by-day instruction to implement the Common Core comprehensively, thoughtfully, and effectively. The goal of Code X Professional Learning will be to further educate leaders and teachers about literacy and the Common Core, specifically focusing on text complexity, close reading, text-dependent questions, academic conversations, informational text, and argument writing.
