Teacher Bookcase
All of the teaching materials and professional resources in the program are stored in the Teacher Bookcase
for easy organization and access.
Teacher Guide
As the primary teaching resource for the program, the Teacher Guide provides all of the information needed
for preparing to teach the lessons, step-by-step teaching instructions, guidance for monitoring student
progress, and specific information about how to use the other materials in the program.
Annotated WorkSpace ®
The Annotated Teacher Version is a replica of the Student Version and shows answers to help with quick monitoring.
Read-Alouds
To support the mathematics in each module, children’s literature is incorporated into lessons to
provide an engaging springboard for instruction. Two copies of the book are provided—one for your
classroom library and one to keep close at hand.
Teacher Demonstration Materials
All of the demonstration materials needed for instruction in the lessons are provided in a zippered mesh
bag for convenient storage and access. At the beginning of each lesson in the Teacher Guide, the specific
materials needed for the lesson are listed and keyed with T to indicate that they are
in this bag.
TeacherSpace™
The binder is ideal to organize all professional resources that relate to the program. It includes a
CD-ROM with videos, reproducibles, and professional articles.
Teaching Arithmetic Professional Book
The professional resource from Math Solutions Publications provides mathematical and pedagogical support.
Vignettes of actual lessons provide valuable teaching guidance and help bring the instruction to life.
WorkSpace ®
At the beginning of each lesson in the Teacher Guide, the specific WorkSpace ® pages related to
the lessons are listed. The WorkSpace ® assignments are integrated into the lessons. Pages are
designed to support students’ transition to independent work and to help teachers monitor students’ progress.
Student Pair Materials
Hands-on materials are used throughout the program to help students build understanding and practice
skills. These materials are provided in zippered mesh bags, with each bag holding the materials needed
for a pair of students. These bags are distributed at the start of each lesson, thus eliminating the
need for materials preparation. The specific materials students need from the bag for a particular lesson
are listed and keyed with S, and the lesson instructions include when students are to
remove the materials they need.
Games
Games are integrated into the modules to provide practice both during lessons and in math centers. All
game materials are stored in zippered mesh bags for convenient storage and portability; each bag contains
materials for four pairs of students. When games are incorporated into lessons, they are listed at the
beginning of the lesson in the Teacher Guide and keyed with G.
