System 44 Program Components

Support for Struggling Readers

System 44 is a foundational reading and phonics program designed for our most challenged, struggling readers in Grades 3–12+. Many of these students are demotivated and disenfranchised from school as the result of years of academic failure. Intentionally metacognitive, System 44 helps students understand that the English language is a finite system of 44 sounds and 26 letters that can be mastered. The program invites students to “crack the code” and join the community of readers, and provides educators with a comprehensive set of tools to meet this challenge:
