CyberHunt: Bug Hunt!
Do you have budding entomologists
in your class? Or just a crew that likes creepy crawlies?
Lead your students on a wild bug hunt across the Internet,
following monarch butterflies as they migrate, and ants deep
into their colonies. Before you begin, distribute the CyberHunt
Reproducible page, found at www.scholastic.com/cyberhuntkids.

GUIDE
1. Six, abdomen, 10 million
2. Grasshoppers can jump two feet high and four feet forward.
A human with that much jumping power could leap over a skyscaper.
3. Adult giant cockroaches can measure up to 10 cm long
and weigh up to 24 grams, as big as a small mouse.
4. The walking stick looks like a twig, or in some cases
like the leaves upon which it feeds. It eats berries and
leaves.
5. Entomologists. Good bugs help by eating bad bugs.
6. Colonies.
7. Orange, black, and white.
8. The ears of the spiny katydid are found on its forelegs!
