Getting Started

Getting started is easy. Follow these simple steps and you will be on your way to enabling your students achieve success!


  1. Ensure that you have received all of your READ 180 and Scholastic Red components. Stage A Elementary and Stage B Middle School each include 12 boxes. Stage C High School includes 17 boxes.
     
  2. View the videos: "The READ 180 Classroom: Overview for Teachers" and "Welcome to READ 180: Introduction for Students."
     
  3. Schedule your on-site training. Your READ 180 purchase entitles you to 2 days of on-site professional development. If your training has not been scheduled, please call your local Scholastic Sales Representative. Contact Sales
     
  4. Install READ 180. Find the easy-to-follow Installation Guide located on the top of the Teacher Crate. Follow the step-by-step procedures described in the Guide. Click here for more information about READ 180 Technology. If you experience difficulties, contact our Technical Support team.
     
  5. Register for your online training course. Your READ 180 purchase also entitles you to access an online professional development course, READ 180: Making It Work in Your Classroom. Locate the Scholastic Red materials that arrived with the READ 180 crates and follow the registration instructions. Note: READ 180 purchases before September, 2003 do not include access to this online course. To find out how you can purchase this course, please contact Sales.
