Windows 2008 Server

We are currently evaluating the Enterprise Edition for compatibility with the Windows 2008 Server operating system, and are planning full support of Scholastic applications running under Windows 2008 Server in the near future. Please check back for updates on compatibility.

Mac OS X v10.5

The Mac OS X v10.5 operating system has been fully certified for the Enterprise Edition v1.4a on both the client and the server. Mac OS X v10.5 is not supported for the Enterprise Edition v1.0.1 – v1.3, or the legacy versions of READ 180, SRI or SRC!.

SUSE Linux 10.1 Server

The SUSE Linux10.1 Server operating system has been fully certified for Enterprise Edition v1.4a. Please note that SUSE Linux 10.1 Server may be installed with or without Novell OES 2.

Vista

The 32-bit version of the Windows Vista Business Edition and the 32-bit version of the Windows Vista Enterprise Edition operating systems have been fully certified for Enterprise Edition v1.4a. Vista is not supported for the Enterprise Edition v1.0.1 – v1.3, or the legacy versions of READ 180, SRI or SRC!.

Windows 2003 Server 64-bit Edition

Scholastic fully supports the 64-bit Windows 2003 Server operating system starting with the Enterprise Edition v1.1, but currently runs in 32-bit mode. Scholastic is currently working towards supporting 64-bit Windows natively in a future release of the Scholastic Enterprise Edition. Please check back in the future for updates.

Thin Client Technologies

All thin client technologies are not currently supported by the Scholastic Enterprise Edition. At this time, there are no plans to support this technology in an upcoming release.

Windows MSI Installersv

Windows MSI Installers are not currently available for the Enterprise Edition. Scholastic is currently working towards making Windows MSI Installers available in a future release of the Enterprise Edition. Please check back in the future for updates.

Virtual Servers

Virtualization using VMWare is fully supported starting with the Scholastic Enterprise Edition v1.2. Scholastic is currently working towards supporting built-in virtualization on Microsoft Windows 2008 Server in a future release of the Scholastic Enterprise Edition. Please check back in the future for updates.

Intel Macs

The Enterprise Edition provides native support for Intel Macs on both the client and the server starting with the Enterprise Edition v1.2.

Intel Dual Core Processors

Scholastic fully supports and recommends using the Dual Core Intel processors for workstations and servers on both the Windows and Macintosh platforms starting with the Enterprise Edition v1.2.

Wireless Networks

Wireless networks (802.11a or 802.11g) are fully supported starting with the Enterprise Edition v1.1, but application performance may be limited by the bandwidth capacity of your wireless network.
