Check below to find the latest updates to Scholastic Reading Counts! Enterprise Edition SMS Data Preparation Tool If you currently use READ 180, Scholastic
Reading Inventory (SRI), and/or Scholastic Reading Counts! (SRC!)
and are converting to Enterprise Edition, and wish to migrate your
current student data from your existing version to the new edition, you
will need to download the SMS Data Preparation Tool below. To download
the Enterprise Edition tool, your existing database must be READ 180 v1.6
or later and/or SRI or SRC! v3.0.2 or later. If you are using a previous
version, or have ANY questions during the migration process, please contact
Technical Support at 1-800-283-5974.
SAM Database Restore Utility This utility will allow you to restore a SAM generated backup file. The download includes a "Database Restore Utility README" file that includes instructions for Mac, Windows, and SUSE Linux (running under Novell OES) users. Please be aware that restoring a backup database file will overwrite all current data.
READ 180 Enterprise Edition v1.4a Quizzes This patch contains additional READ 180 quizzes associated with the Enterprise Edition v1.4a update. Download the READ 180 1.4a Quiz Patch.zip file and navigate to this file using the normal quiz install process.
SAM Enterprise Edition v1.2.2 Server Maintenance Release Downloading and installing this SAM maintenance release will correct the following errors in SAM: 1. This release will make it possible to update existing user names in a SAM Enterprise Edition database using the CSV/XML Roster Import tool. The SAM Patch v1.2.2 also includes all of the fixes in the SAM Patch v1.2.1 listed below: 2. This release fixes two SRI-related issues with the roster export feature in the SAM client: a) For students who have not taken an SRI test, the LEXILE_SCORE is 0 and the LEXILE_MOD_DATE is blank. The fix is that both of these values will be blank for students who have not taken an SRI test.b) Negative values of LEXILE_SCORE for some students. The fix is that these values will be exported as 0. 3. This release fixes an error in which teachers and administrators are unable to find some students using the student search tool in the SAM client. These are students who are not in any classes with assigned teachers (e.g. students who are only in a 'school-wide' class). 4. This release fixes an error in which teachers and administrators are unable to add periods to user names in the SAM client. 5. This release fixes an error that inadvertently causes district administrators to lose administrator access privileges in the SAM client. When a district administrator first tries to edit a teacher's profile, and then edits and saves changes to his/her own profile, the account is converted from a district administrator to a teacher. IMPORTANT NOTE:
SAM Patch v1.2.2 must be installed over an existing SAM v1.2 installation. The SAM Patch v1.2.2 may also be installed over an existing installation of the SAM Patch v1.2.1.
SRC! Enterprise Edition v1.2.1 Server Maintenance Release Downloading and installing this SRC! maintenance release will correct three SRC errors as described below: 1. This release fixes an error in which some students are unable to log in to the SRC student client.When they attempt to log in to SRC!, they receive a message alerting them that they are logged in elsewhere, then click OK to replace other instances, but ultimately are prevented from logging in. Students who encounter this issue may receive either of the following messages: 2. This release fixes an error in which teachers or administrators are unable to add quiz scores using the SRC! Grading Tools in the SAM client.For some entered dates in the past, it erroneously displays a red alert message, "The selected date cannot be later than today's date." SRC Patch v1.2.1 must be installed over an existing SRC v1.2 installation.
SAM-MR-1_2a (Intel Mac Server only)
SAM-MR-1_1_1a This SAM maintenance release will allow the Manage Inactive Accounts screen to process student names containing special characters. Downloading and installing this release will correct situations in which a special character, such as an n with a tilda in a student's name, has caused problems in loading the Manage Inactive Accounts screen.
New SRC! 1.1.1d Patch This SAM maintenance release replaces the SRC-MR-1-1-1b patch, which caused problems that ultimately prevented certain students from being able to log in to SRC! This release also contains the same fix included in the SRC v1.1.1b patch, which corrected situations in which students got "stuck" with one score in certain quizzes. It also includes a fix to an error that the SRC Patch v1.1.1b caused, which in some cases prevented students from logging in to SRC!
Scholastic Reading Counts!Enterprise Edition V1.0.1a (only affects the SRC! version that is included with READ 180 Enterprise Edition server installation CD.) Certain customers have experienced problems installing quiz collections from CDs that contain fewer than 100 quizzes. Downloading this software update will correct and prevent that problem.
READ 180 Enterprise Edition Quizzes (For READ 180 Stage A, B, & C customers using Scholastic Reading Counts! Enterprise Edition) This download includes two READ 180 quizzes that are missing in the READ 180 Quizzes.ZIP' file, which was included on the READ 180 Suite Server Components Installation CD. Download the READ 180 Quiz Patch.zip' file and navigate to this file using the normal quiz install process. READ 180 Quiz Patch.zip**
SMS 3.0.4 Update If you have Scholastic Reading Counts! 3.0.3 installed, download and install the following patches:
SMS Server 3.0.4 and SMS Client 3.0.4 Downloading and installing this SMS Server maintenance release in conjunction with the SMS Client maintenance release will enable the following improvements: *Integrity Checks will now default to "off" when running
the Maintenance Utility from within SMS.
Book Label Patch Tool In v3.0.3, book labels may print off-center on standard label stock. This patch corrects the format of book label printouts in Scholastic Management Suite v3.0.3 for Windows. This patch should only be installed by Windows users who are using v3.0.3. It should be installed on any workstations with Scholastic Management Suite installed. This patch does not require an update to the files in the Scholastic Reading Counts! database.
