Muhammad Ali is a world-class athlete in the sport of boxing. He won the gold medal at the Rome Olympics in 1960. His colorful career, boxing style, personal convictions, and dedication to his sport and his values have won him many admirers. However, this is not the only side of Muhammad Ali. He has turned his energy to humanitarian efforts and a desire to help others. His six core values are carried on by the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, Kentucky, and through these three special classroom libraries. Ali has faced incredible obstacles in his life and career, but has succeeded in overcoming many challenges through his commitment to his values. His life mission is to help each person “capture the magic inside each of us” and Scholastic is proud to be a partner in this endeavor.
