Paula Naegle is a teacher trainer for the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada. She has trained thousands of new teachers in this largest and fastest growing school district in the United States. She works with Bonnie Murray, the author of the Grades K-4 version of this sourcebook.

Mary Napoli is a former classroom teacher who is now teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in children's and young adult literature at Penn State Harrisburg. Mary lives in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.

Susan B. Neuman, a Professor of Education at the University of Michigan, served as Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education from 2002 to 2004. She specializes in early literacy development, and her research and teaching interests include early childhood policy, curriculum, and early reading instruction. She is the author of numerous professional books.

Maria Nichols, a National Board-Certified Teacher, was a classroom teacher for thirteen years and a literacy demonstration teacher for three. At present Maria works as a literacy staff developer in elementary classrooms in San Diego. She is a co-author of Teaching Literacy in First Grade and the author of Comprehension Through Conversation: The Power of Purposeful Talk in the Reading Workshop, and Talking About Text: Guiding Students to Increase Comprehension Through Purposeful Talk.

Dr. Tom Nicholson, Professor of Literacy Education, teaches at Massey University's College of Education, Albany Campus, in Auckland, New Zealand. He has also been a visiting scholar at Stanford University and the University of Texas at Austin. He has extensive experience working with pre- and in-service teachers, and is an active researcher in the field of reading comprehension.

Kristen Nelson is an educator based in Southern California. As an elementary teacher, she incorporates a Multiple Intelligence approach into her teaching—with great results. As a staff developer, she trained teachers in her district in applying MI theory. She has written for Instructor magazine.
