In the Classroom
Instruction in the Scholastic Early Childhood Program is centered around three learning areas: Circle Time, Story Time, and Learning Centers. The theme-based Teacherís Guide provide daily lessons for each area to balance purposeful-play with teacher-directed instruction.

Learning Together in Circle Time
Circle Time brings the class together for fun and oral language learning during small- and large-group throughout the day. Activities–such as shared reading, singing songs, listening to poetry, reciting rhymes and chants–help children develop:

  1. oral language
  2. phonological awareness
  3. math skills
