Background
New York recently announced a settlement of $350 million in Microsoft Settlement vouchers. Following the Claim Period for consumers and businesses, New York public schools that serve at least 50% students from low-income households will receive the difference between $225 Million and the vouchers actually claimed.
New York has not yet released the terms of the voucher program; no applications, procedures, or requirements are available at this time. However, the state expects to release guidelines for the process; schools will be notified if they are eligible within three months after the close of the Claim Period which ended in October 2006.
