Use on Its Own
WriteBoard is a great tool to supplement any traits-related professional resource, and is perfect for whole-class, small-group, and one-on-one instruction. Many of the resources allow you to work within a specific mode of writing (narrative, expository, or persuasive), helping to support students as they develop the skills to meet and exceed the Common Core State Standards.
Use with Traits Writing
Every area of WriteBoard addresses specific traits and their key qualities. WriteBoard and Traits Writing cover the same conventions topics grade by grade, which means you can use WriteBoard activities as alternatives to the Conventions Focus activities in Traits Writing.
Benchmark Papers are trait specific, and can be used in addition to or as a replacement for those found in Traits Writing. Games and other activities can supplement independent and small-group Traits instruction, or serve as transitions from one subject to the next.
