Mary Wilson Eager, 2001
State Teacher of the Year, Georgia
Mary Eager's teaching career spans 25 years and grade levels 5 through high school. She currently teaches students mathematics and computer science at Lumpkin County High School in Dahlonega, Georgia. One of her favorite projects is "The Valentine Match." Her computer science students write a program for a computer dating service and sell the resulting matches to their peers on Valentine's Day. The problem-solving process comes alive. "I want my students to come alive with a desire to learn and a willingness to think."
