Beverly San Agustin, 2001
State Teacher of the Year, Guam
I consider one of my greatest contributions in education is that of making my students become better productive citizens of the community by turning service into learning. By emphasizing service, it enables students to improve, grow, and succeed in their interpersonal relationships, leadership, and communication skills. As an Advanced Placement American Government and Social Studies instructor for 23 years, I am confident the youth will understand the importance of their roles and responsibilities of citizenship by being active participants in school and their community and continuously striving to improve the quality of life for our posterity and country.
