Author of the Month Rick Riordan

Rick Riordan, the author of the enormously popular series Percy Jackson and the Olympians, launched a new adventure series The 39 Clues. He talks about it in our exclusive video and reads aloud from Book #1: The Maze of Bones. In October Rick Riordan himself joined the Message Board to answer some students’ questions!

Rick Riordan was a history teacher when he wrote the first Percy Jackson book. Now he is a full-time writer but he never publishes a book unless his sons read it first and approve. Read More About Riordan’s Life

Rick Riordan Answers Your Questions

Question from Apollo 127: Thalia is one of my favorite characters, and I was really sad not to see her in The Battle of the Labyrinth. Will she be back in the next book?
Yes, you will see Thalia again in The Last Olympian.

Question from Luv2write666: In The 39 Clues, what branch are you and who's your favorite character?
I took the test and ended up a Janus! It's hard to pick a favorite character but I think Dan is a lot like I was as a kid.

Question From Dustfinger: What inspired you to become a writer?
My eighth grade English teacher! She encouraged me to submit my first story.
