Kids Connect Online

Scholastic Read For 2006 is bringing reading to a whole new level. This year, children and classrooms around the world can connect online through special live chats with favorite authors and musical artists.

Blue Balliett has been a waitress, a researcher of old houses, a grill cook, and an art gallery director. However, she decided she wanted to write an art-centered mystery for children after spending time visiting museums as a teacher with her third grade class.

Walter WickWalter Wick, author and creator of the I SPY™ series, introduces a new book this holiday season, entitled Can You See What I See? The Night Before Christmas — a delightful read that includes scenes from Clement Moore's 'Twas the Night Before Christmas inspiring twelve elegant and fascinating compositions where readers search for dozens of intriguing hidden objects. As an author, photographer and painter, Wick enjoys discussing the influences that led to the creation of I SPY, in addition to the effects his work has on kids and their growing understanding of science and visual perception.

B5Discovered by Sean "Diddy" Combs, B5, the latest boy band to hit the music scene includes five brothers, Dustin, 17; Kelly, 16; Patrick, 14; Carnell, 13; and Bryan, 10. They have debuted two singles, "U Got Me" and "All I Do," from their self-titled CD released this year.

They love reading, traveling, and meeting new people. They have a tutor that travels with them when they are the road doing concerts and they have school every week day. Their favorite subjects are History, Math, and Science.
