Read For 2007 Event
Here are some basic steps that will assist you in planning your
event. Choose the ones that work for you.
Sign Up Today!
Make sure that you sign up so that
your library can be part of this worldwide reading celebration. Your
library will appear on the Scholastic Read For 2007 Interactive
World Map for everyone to see!
Pledge to participate.
When you sign up for Scholastic Read For 2007 you can print out
the Reading
Pledge, written by author Cornelia Funke, for your young readers to take home.
Spread the word!
Tell kids, parents and other staff- or, if you're in a school library,
inform the principal, teachers and PTA members. They may have ideas
and resources to support your efforts. Perhaps they'll be encouraged
to join the celebration. Imagine everyone dropping everything to
read with the rest of the world- and the library is the perfect
place to do it!
