Examples & Tips for Organizing Classroom Books
From Teachers at Becker Primary School Becker, MN

Gayle Berthiaume, First Grade Teacher

I organize my classroom library by using tubs that are labeled for content. I have tubs for school, friends, animals, holidays, transportation, humor, art, careers, mysteries, story starters, ocean and folktales. I have each tub color-coded with small dots. I put the same color-coded dots on the front of each book. Then the students know where the books belong.

The first photo in this slide show is my classroom library. The rest are from other teachers in my school.
