Jamaluddin is the youngest of four boys. His father was a commander with the Mujaheddin and fought against the Soviets several years ago. Now, he is a tribal elder and owns a market.

Do you work? Do you have a lot of chores to do?

Answer: "I help my father at his store. Now I am older, I watch the store while he has meetings or goes home for lunch. Sometimes I have to help my mom sweep the house because I don't have any sisters."
