John McCain
John McCain says the United States needs to have the world’s best-trained and best-equipped military to fight the war on terrorism. He vows to increase the size of the U.S. military to meet our security needs around the world. McCain says his top defense priority would be properly paying, training, and equipping our troops.

For the men and women of the U.S. military to do their jobs effectively, they must be outfitted with the most advanced weapons systems and safety and survivability equipment, he says. McCain has also called for the development of a national missile defense to protect American from a potential missile attack.
