Dick Cheney, Republican
Age: 63
State: Wyoming
Current Job: Vice President of the United States
Family: wife, Lynne; daughters, Mary and Elizabeth; three granddaughters

Strengths: Dick Cheney has a lot of experience because he has worked for four Presidents: Gerald Ford, Richard Nixon, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush. Cheney also served as Secretary of Defense from March 1989 to January 1993. He directed Operation Just Cause in Panama and Operation Desert Storm in the Middle East. The first President Bush awarded Cheney the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his leadership in the Gulf War.

Weaknesses: Cheney is seen by opponents as a hard-line conservative who pushed the President into an unnecessary war.

Best Issues: His Secretary of Defense experience under former President George H.W. Bush makes Cheney knowledgeable in the area of defense and foreign policy.
