Walt Disney Pictures has brought Holes to the big screen. Adapted from the Newbury Medal- and National Book Award-winning book by Louis Sachar, and directed by Andrew Davis, Holes will open in theaters around the nation on April 18.

Holes tells the humorous story of Stanley Yelnats IV (Shia LaBeouf). Stanley is a young man growing up in a family cursed with generations of bad luck. On his way home one day, Stanley is wrongly accused of stealing Clyde "Sweet Feet" Livingston's (Rick Fox) sneakers from a charity auction.

For his punishment, Stanley must either choose between going to jail or spend months of detention at Camp Green Lake. Stanley chooses Green Lake.

Stanley becomes friends with his fellow campers in D-Tent, Squid (Jake M. Smith), Armpit (Byron Cotton), ZigZag (Max Kasch), Magnet (Miguel Castro), X-Ray (Brenden Jefferson), and Zero (Khelo Thomas). Together, they must get through the long, hot days under the rule of the intimidating Warden (Sigourney Weaver), and camp "counselors," Mr. Sir (Jon Voight) and Mr. Pendanski (Tim Blake Nelson), while being on the lookout for those nasty yellow, spotted lizards!

The campers are ordered to dig holes, though no one is told why. Soon, Stanley begins to suspect that the Warden is looking for the buried treasure that belonged to wild-west outlaw Kissin' Kate Barlow (Patricia Arquette) over 100 years ago.

Stanley and the other young men at Camp Green Lake must find a way to escape, solve the mystery of Kissin' Kate Barlow, and break the Yelnats family curse, before the Warden finds the treasure and things get out of control!
