The Incredibles

Plot: Mr. Incredible is a superhero, or at least he used to be. Suddenly, people saved by the superheroes started suing them, and the former do-gooders were forced to enter witness protection programs. Today, the former superheroes are normal people, leading normal, humdrum lives. Mr. Incredible, now known as Bob Parr, lives with his wife, Helen, formerly Elastigirl, and their three children, Violet, Dash, and Jack Jack. Bob is an insurance claims specialist. But he hates his normal life and his nasty boss and profession. He wants to be a superhero again—but his wife wants no part of the past! When Bob Parr is asked to play the role of hero again by a mysterious informant, he thinks his prayers have been answered. Unfortunately, it's a trap! His old nemesis wants revenge on Mr. Incredible, and to save him, his family must reveal their true identities. (Buena Vistsa, PG)

The Polar Express

Plot: Based on the popular children's book, this film tries to answer the question, Does Santa Claus exist? For one doubting boy (voice of Daryl Sabara and Tom Hanks), an astonishing event occurs. It's Christmas Eve and he lies in bed hoping to hear Santa's sleigh bells as he parks on the boy's roof. Instead, the boy hears a steam engine roar and whistle outside his window. The conductor (voice of Tom Hanks) invites him on board along with dozens of other children and they take an amazing flight to the North Pole. There, the boy finds out the truth about Santa—and the joy only a true-believer can experience. (Warner Brothers, G)

Finding Neverland

Stars: Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet
Plot: The life, times, and experiences of J.M. Barrie, the author of Peter Pan, are the subject of this movie. When he got to know four children with no fathers he was led to write Peter Pan, a story about children who don't want to grow up. (Miramax, PG 13)

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie

Plot: Based on the super-popular Nickelodeon cartoon series, this movie finds SpongeBob SquarePants on a new adventure—he leaves his town of Bikini Bottom so he can track down King Neptune's stolen crown. (Paramount, PG)

Christmas with the Kranks

Plot: Luther Krank (Tim Allen) is fed up with the commercial aspect of Christmas. To make a point he decides to skip the holiday and go on a vacation with his wife. I Am David

Plot: Adapted from Anne Holm's award-winning novel North to Freedom, the movie tells the story of a 12-year-old boy, David, who escapes a Communist concentration camp. He has only a compass, a sealed letter, a loaf of bread, and instructions to carry the letter to Copenhagen, Denmark. David experiences freedom for the first time as he makes his way across Europe. David, who trusted no one when he was in the camp, finds that people can be basically good. He lets himself trust and love. And he finds a whole new life. (Lions Gate, PG 13)

Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events
