In an interview with Scholastic editors, Caroline Kennedy addressed the issue of leadership.

"One of the qualities of a great leader is to inspire other people to do their best and to want to participate in our society and improve the lives of others," she said. "When we've had leaders that have really united our country with a sense of purpose that really benefited our whole society, those leaders have really stood out through history as models that we really want to emulate."

Caroline Kennedy has written or edited three books about the Constitution, and has a new book coming out this fall, A Family of Poems: My Favorite Poetry for Children. She is the daughter of former President John F. Kennedy, and wrote an introduction to his Pulitizer Prize-winning book, Profiles in Courage, which was recently reissued.
