Star Spotlight

Emma Roberts may have famous relatives (her father is Eric Roberts, and her aunt is Julia Roberts) but she’s very much a star in her own right! After shooting the final season of the popular Nickelodeon show Unfabulous, Emma went on to promote the summer 2007 movie Nancy Drew. We recently sat down with this busy star. Here's what she had to say:

Who is Emma's favorite actress?

Q & A

Q: How did the movie update Nancy Drew?

Emma Roberts: One of the cool things about the movie is that they didn't exactly update Nancy Drew. They mostly updated the story around her.

Q: Was it fun to play Nancy Drew?

Emma: She was a lot of fun to play. It was just cool to be her for a few months.

Q: What kind of clothes did she wear?

Emma: She wears a lot of timeless dresses and suit outfits, button-up shirts and high-waisted pants. It's very cute, actually.

Q: Do you think you would be a good detective?

Emma: I actually used to want to be a detective when I was younger because I think it's really cool to solve mysteries.

Q: Did you read Nancy Drew books when you were younger?

Emma: No, but I'm reading them now because a lot of people are giving them to me as gifts.

Q: Do you have a favorite so far?

Emma: Probably Nancy Drew and the Secret of Old Clock.

Q: Did you have a stunt double in the movie?

Emma: I did. There are lots of stunts in the movie.

Q: What's your favorite school subject?

Emma: I like to read a lot.

Q: What books did you read when you were younger?

Emma: The first book series that I read was the Junie B. Jones series. I read 20 of those books. I used to love them so much.

Q: Why do you think reading is important?

Emma: I think it's fun. You get to learn a lot. It's important because it expands your vocabulary and introduces you to new things. I have always loved reading stories.

Q: What's your favorite episode from Unfabulous?

Emma: There's one episode from the third season where I have a double. I have a twin. I got to play two people in the episode.
