President Lincoln gave a very famous speech known as the The Gettysburg Address. He gave this short speech at the dedication of a cemetery in this town after the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863. Look at a copy of one of Lincoln's handwritten drafts at http://www.loc.gov/exhibits/gadd/gadrft.html — and read the text of Lincoln's speech at http://www.loc.gov/exhibits/gadd/gatr2.html.

Make a copy of the text. Use a dictionary and thesaurus to look up words that you don't understand. Then, rewrite it in your own words.
