 Formatting Your Poem
Poetry can take any form from words pasted on a soda
bottle to lines scribbled on a diner placemat, but here are some standard
formatting suggestions: • Indent when a line of poetry is long and goes on to the next line
on the page
• Add a space between stanzas
• Be sure that your computer did not automatically capitalize words
that you did not mean to capitalize
• Put your name in italics at the bottom, right,
with a long dash in front of your name.
• Or, Center your poem.
