St. Patrick

St. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland. He is one of Christianity's most widely known figures. There are many interesting stories about St. Patrick.
St. Patick was born in Britain to weathly parents near the end of the fourth century. He is believed to have died on March 17, 460 A.D.
At the age of 16, Patrick was taken prisoner by Irish raiders who were attacking his family's estate.They transported him to Ireland were he spent 6 years in captivity. During this time he
was a sheperd. He escaped. To escape he had to walk 200 miles to the Irish coast.
Patrick began religious training. After training Patrick went back to Ireland. He spent then rest of his life working to convert the Irish to Christianity.
