Trick or Treat?

Some interesting story always comes out of Halloween night for my friends and me. This is what happened in the year 2010. Kadie, Mariah, and Hope all arrived at my house to change into our costumes for trick or treating. Hope was a pretty pink, purple, and gold fairy. Kadie and Mariah were both 60’s workout girls complete with the extra short shorts with tights, a tie-dye top, sweatbands, and leg warmers. I was a pink and black boxer girl and I wore 4 inch high heels, that right there was one mistake. We all modeled for our pictures then we were off into the streets of Royal Oak Estates. We started at the rich end and made out with at least 8 full size candy bars each with a ton of other candies. Along to way to the rest of Royal Oak we saw about 3 people dressed up as Lady Gaga, a light-up fairy, a mom in a full KISS costume with all the leather and paint, and then we were invited to an adult party by a nerd guy we didn’t know. We were about to crash the teen party at the house with a giant dance floor but decided not too. Kadie and I walked up the driveway to the porch of 85 year old man’s house. “1 for you because your old.” he says to Kadie, “And 2 for you because you are cute!” he says to me. Yeah, we ran from that house. “All the old men are flirting with Lex!” Kadie says to the other girls. We were all disgusted but giggled then went on our way.
We were at the end of the neighborhood finally and dragging our candy-filled pillow cases along and stopped at the highway. We called my dad and he said he was blocked in by other cars so he wouldn’t pick us up. And so we started walking along the road in the pitch black. I could feel the blisters forming on my feet so Kadie gave me a piggyback ride for a while then the rest of the girls took turns helping me. Suddenly a car came driving by slowing down and they honked at us, it was a couple teenage guys. We were freaking out a little and started walking faster when finally we reached the beginning on the estates and laid in a random person’s yard then on the street. Finding my house, we walked in and fell on the floor pouring out our candy. I had about 120 pieces. We walked 3-4 miles that night, my advice to you is no matter how cute you are do not wear high heels for trick or treating. The rest of the night was filled with scary movies and memories I will never forget. I enjoy sharing this lovely event with my friends and family because it reminds me that God has given us many blessing and I will cherish this memory of my friends forever.
