One example of folklore that occurs in my community is Boonsboro days. This small town crafts fair occurs every September in our popular Shafer park, and lasts for only one weekend. During this event, people from different counties come to our small town to look at venders selling things from hair ties to beautiful artwork. One of the most common things i see while driving through town is yard sales. My family and i always chuckle at all the people in the heat tearing up the yard sales in the heat of the afternoon. One of my earliest memories of Boonsboro days is wanting to buy a Hello Kitty doll from a scary salesman. My mom quickly pulled me away from that booth. You never know what kind of people you will see in a small town like this!
Even though the weather may be bad and yard sales may be popping up everywhere, Boonsboro days is a community event that i will go to and never forget.
