The Flying Cat

Marie Day entered the kitchen on the morning of Friday the 13th, but she wasn't worried, she didn't believe that Friday the 13th was so scary. It was just make-believe stories to scare little kids! She was thirteen!
''Good morning Mom!'' She said.
''Good morning Marie.'' Mom said. She set a plate of pancakes down in front of her. ''Are you worried about today?''
''Why, Mom?'' Marie asked, taking a bite of her breakfast.
''Marie honey! Its Friday the 13th! Anything can happen!''
Marie rolled her eyes. Her mom was so last year! She umped up from the table and said. ''I'm off to school. See you later Mom.''
Marie's Mom just smiled as she left the house.
Once outside, Marie met up with her friend, Lila. Lila started going on and on about Friday the 13th. ''Okay Lila.'' Marie finally said. ''Stop. Friday the 13th is just a normal day.''
''Then what's that?'' Lila asked, pointing past Marie.
She turned and gasped. There, floating toward her, was a flying black cat! Marie screamed and turned and ran back toward her house.
''Mom!'' She screamed. ''Mom! I saw a flying cat! The myths are true! Friday the 13th is haunted!'' With that, she fled to her room and locked the door.
Just then, Lila burst into the house, laughing her head off. ''That was a great idea Ms. Day! Tricking Marie like that.''
''But I didn't, what are you talking about? What is Marie talking about? Good-bye Lila.'' And she shut the door.
Marie's Mom sank into the chair and sighed.
''This is only the beginning.'' She said.
