Long ago, when waves first started accruing, people believed that Poseidon made these waves happen when the sea had power moods of Poseidon.Poseidon was the god of the sea, Earthquakes, and horses.

Although he was officially the supreme god of Mount Olympus, he spent most of his time under and in his watery domain. Poseidon was the brother of Zeus, and Hades. These three all divided up creation. Zeus was the god of the sky, Hades was the god of the god of the underworld, and Poseidon was given all water, clean and salt.

Although there are many rivers personified as gods, these would have all been technically under Poseidonís power.
Nerseus the old man of the sea, wasnít really considered on a par with Poseidon, he was known to drive his chariot through the sea to make the waves, and some believe that Poseidon does the same. Poseidon often granted the power to others.

King Minos called Poseidon to send bulls from the sea to prove his divine right. Poseidon sent the bulls and King Minos promised to sacrifice.

What do you think about the myth of Poseidon? Do you think he really has control over the sea, earthquakes, and horses?
