Why Dogs Chase Cats

One day on Mount Jungle, two gods, Dog and Cat were arguing. Cat and Dog got mad. Dog ran and tried to get Cat. Cat jumped and scratched Dog. Cat ran up a tall tree. Dog climbed up the tree after Cat. Cat was very afraid. Then suddenly, the tree shook like it was about to fall.

Lion and Bear were knocking the tree down. Wise Bird sprinkled some magic dust on Cat and Dog so they would not fall. The tree fell down, hitting the ground hard. Cat and Dog slowly came down safely. Lion and Bear were mad.

Lion and Bear decided to punish them. They asked Wise Bird to help them to figure out a punishment. First, Cat and Dog would have to walk on all four legs. Second, they lost their opposable thumb. They could no longer talk the inter-animal language. They still hate each other to this day. Some dogs made friends with cats, but some never forgave the cats. But that's not the only thing Bird did. He made all land animals the same way. Then there was an animal called Human!
