Good afternoon, you are listening to Wapa News, San Juan, Puerto Rico at 5:30.
Today is Tuesday, July 2, 1937 and my name is Bob Frenchy.
Today, we will talk about one of first America’s woman pilot, Amelia Earhart.
Amelia was born on Kansas in July 1, 1897 and was flying since 1920.
After completing some important achievements like the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean in 1928, Amelia told her husband George that she wanted to fly around the world.
Amelia landed yesterday at San Juan Puerto Rico flying a custom- built Lockheed Model 10E Electra. She arrived with Fred Noonan, her navigator. San Juan is her first destination on her journey around the world.
Today she will take off from San Juan to Cumana, Venezuela. Next she is going to land on Brazil, before crossing the Atlantic Ocean to Senegal.
We all hoped that she will accomplish her trip.
Please keep your radio on Wapa News.
Have a great afternoon!
