Drill, Uniform, Planes, and Kids?!

By Sydney B.
New Hampshire, Age 12

It's the Civil Air Patrol. An volunteer organization dedicated to helping. Teens and grown- ups can join. What they do is drill, do PT, search and rescue, and have fun. You even get ranks! But the Civil Air Patrol isn't all about drill and stuff. You have to pass test on leadership and aerospace to get your next promotion. Also they watch your school grades to make sure you keep up with your schoolwork. Many parents enter their children because of the wonderful structure. Not only that, it has very minimal payments, a blessing in these economical times. So find your local squadron by going on line to their site, you'll never regret it.
