New students
How do new students feel? I interviewed Lindsay. I asked her questions that had to do with new students. She is a new student this year. This is what Lindsay had to say. “It was hard to start a new school. Making new friends was kind of easy. I think Shelledy is o.k. People are nice here at Shelledy. I was nervous at first. I made one friend on the first day of school.”
Now we know how new students feel, what about the students that are not new this year but have been new before? I also interviewed Ana. She is not new this year. This is what she had to say. “It was hard to start a new school because I didn’t know anyone. It was easy to make new friends. I think Shelledy is fun. I do think people are nice. I was nervous. I made one friend on the first day of school. I have been here for six years.”
What about the school councilor? I can’t forget Mrs. O. I interviewed her and this is what she had to say. “New students are great because they bring new energy or new ideas. I think some new students feel welcome and others don’t because it is hard to start a new school. I hope new students don’t have problems and if they do I hope they come to me so I can help them solve it. Challenge yourself to make new students feel welcome.
