Wednesday 18th June is a day England fans will never forget. In the 86th minute it was Joe Hart who scored the winner!
Hart made a sensational run (100 yards) to score a skilful chip over the Brazilian goalkeeper Dida, who awkwardly slipped, leaving Brazilian fans woebegone and sombre.

It all started when the whistle blew at 7:30 pm London, England (Wembley Stadium) when the fantastic 90, 000 crowd blew up with excitement as England dominated the first 10 minutes of the match, in this World Cup knock-out thriller.

Brazil scored first with Pato scoring a marvellous free kick 18.6 metres from goal. “I think England played brilliantly” stated England captain, Justin Hoyte. “We thought Brazil would score again and finish us off but we fought on and scored instead”. Joe Hart was over the moon after scoring. “It was…um…incredible scoring against Brazil.”

Dida was later dropped for a poor performance.

England will play France (after they destroyed Holland 4-1) at the 60, 000 fortress The Emirates in the quarter finals. (Monday June the 23rd).
