How farmers take care of their farms

By Caitlin R.
Massachusetts, Age 9

Farmers take care of their farm by watering them every day! They use a thing called irragation. That they use like sprinklers. It waters the plants for them instead of them having to water one by one. They use a system called crop rotation. One year they might do potatoes then they would do tomatoes then they would do berries then they would start potatoes again. They take a rest in between crops. They do all this at their farms. They make their money off of selling crops. In the winter they must have a back up since you can't grow crops in the winter outside. Farmers have a very busy life. First they plant the seed. Next they wait for it to grow out of the ground. Then they take care of it. Finally they harvest it.
