The Atomic Bomb Dropped On Hiroshima

By Laura C.
Connecticut, Age 4

On August 6, 1945 at 8:15 a.m. the atomic bomb was dropped in Hiroshima, Japan. The bomb was called Little Boy. It was dropped by a United States bomber called the Enola Gay. The bomb was dropped because the U.S.A. were in the middle of World War II. Mrs. Kathy Zizek came to our classroom and told us that her mom was in Hiroshima when Little Boy was dropped.
Kathy said '' At first there was a really bright light in the sky. The wind from the bomb pushed everybody down. When they woke up it was boiling hot. People were going into ponds to cool off. But the people never came out of the water.'' Kathy's mom has had many different diseases due to the radiation from the bomb. When the bomb was dropped it was a very sad thing. More than 200,000 people died from this occurrence.
