Global Warming

By Emily L.
Massachusetts, Age 11

Did You know the glaciers in the North and South Poles are melting?

The average temperature each year is increasing by 2-10 degrees. When the ice is melting it is making the oceans deeper with more water coming into the shore. Each year the coast lines are becoming smaller since the water is moving inward. In Holand they had to put up huge sand walls to keep the towns from flooding. They spent 1 billion dollars on this job and probably need to spend another 1 billion dollars to raise the wall another 10 feet. Our land is becoming less and less every minute the glaciers and ice are melting into the oceans.
