We Were There

By Elle L.
West Virginia, Age 11

In 1620, something special happened. A group of religious pilgrims from England landed in North America. They built a small community in Plymouth, Massachussettes, where the Wampanoag tribe lived. The native Americans and the pilgrims got along fairly well and began to help one another. The natives did most of the helping, in fact, they helped the pilgrims have a feast for which the pilgrims were extremely thankful. If it weren't for the help of the native Wampanoags, the pilgrims would likely have all died.
